Frances June Fowler Freed

Frances June Fowler Freed, age 95, died peacefully on January 22, 2024, at Dogwood Village in Orange, VA.

She was born April 21, 1928. Frances truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; playing bridge with lifelong friends in Gordonsville, boating, fishing, and camping with her husband and children; always being available to her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John D. (Jr) Freed and her son, David Houston Freed. She is survived by her son Chris Freed and his wife Ann Garnett Sparks Freed of Zion Crossroads. She also had three grandchildren, David Aaron Freed of Laredo, TX, Courtney Freed Wawak (Brandon) of Charlotte, NC and Meredith Freed Oliff (James) of Nashville, TN, eight great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren, her sister, Lily M. Krause of Gordonsville.

Family, friends, and others whose lives Frances touched are invited to Preddy's Funeral home in Gordonsville on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 5:00 to 6:00 PM to reminisce, grieve, support each other, laugh, and, of course, just chat.

There will be a private family burial in Maplewood Cemetery in Gordonsville at a later date.
