Everette Jesse (E. J.) Knighting, Jr., 69 of Barboursville, Va, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at his home. He was born on January 12, 1953 to the late Everette Jesse Knighting, Sr. and Elsie Mae Weaver Knighting Carpenter. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Steve Knighting; sisters, Jeanette Weakley and Frances Smith.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Brenda Johnson; daughter, Tina K. Sholes and husband David; sisters, Rebecca K. Lohr and husband Shorty, Patricia K. Carpenter and husband Grover, Brenda K. Graves and husband William, and Linda K. Dodson; and one grandson, Austin Lee Sholes.
