Essie Mae Nicholson Aylor Nicholson, 101 of years old of Madison, passed away at Autumn Care in Madison, Va. She was born on March 4, 1922 to the late John Lewis Nicholson and Fannie Frances Dodson Nicholson. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, James W. Aylor and second husband Adam Nicholson; brother, Sammy Prince and Jordan Nicholson; sisters, Claudia Nicholson, Goldie Nicholson; and Jessie Corbin.

She was member of Thoroughfare Bible Church, and she loved being with the Madison Senior Citizens.

She is survived by her daughters, Ella A. Martz of Madison and Judy DeGawin and husband Robert of Culpeper; son, Charles W. Aylor and wife Glenna of Fayetteville, N. C.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, September 11, 2023 at Thoroughfare Bible Church with Pastor Neal Warner and Pastor Perry Utz officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Thoroughfare Bible Church, 3823 Thoroughfare Road, Culpeper, Va. 22701.
