Ernest Roosevelt Dodson

Ernest Roosevelt Dodson, 91 of Madison, Va. went home to the Lord on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 in Charlottesville, Va. He was born on October 10, 1932 to the late Ernest Robert Dodson and Lillie Catherine Dyer Dodson. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Lawrence Clark Dodson; sisters, Marie Yowell and Dorothy Alger.

Roosevelt retired from Eddins Ford after many years of service. "Rosie" loved fishing, hunting, gardening, and the Atlanta Braves.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Shirley Ann Smith Dodson; daughters, Debra Ann Gordon and husband Jackie of Rochelle and Sharon Gail Utz and husband Tony of Etlan; grandchildren, Brian Gordon and wife Lauran of Rochelle, Mark Gordon and wife Amy of Ferrum, Va., Chad Utz and wife Melinda of Etlan, Jody Seale and husband Junior of Aylor; great-grandchildren, Ryleigh and Jack Gordon, Emma and Paisley Gordon, Abigail Utz, Huntlyn Grace Seale, and Levi Seale.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Madison with Pastor Johnny Hawkins officiating.
