Erba Jean Burton

Erba Jean Burton, 96 of Gordonsville, passed away on Tuesday October 18,2022 at Dogwood Village of Orange County Assisted Living Center loved by both residents and staff. Born March 7 ^th 1926 in Monticello, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Rolla and Thursa McCraw. Mrs. Burton worked at Gordon-Barbour Elementary School in Gordonsville and served as a volunteer for over 40 years at The Clothes Closet in Orange. She was a member of Unionville Christian Church.

Mrs. Burton is survived by her two sons, Rodney Burton and wife Nancy of Richmond, Dennis Burton of Bristol, Rhode Island, six grandchildren: David Burton, Hunter Burton and wife Kaity, Sarah Bauer and husband Jordan, Cassidy Burton and fiancée David Cochrane, Matthew Burton, Paige Burton, and 4 great-grandchildren: Benjamin Burton, Bron Bauer, Emery Burton, Sloane Cochrane and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Leonard C. Burton, and her two brothers.

The family will receive friends at Preddy Funeral Home of Gordonsville from 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday October 21,2022.

A private graveside service will be held at Unionville Christian Church. Minister Michael Jackson will officiate.
