Edith Mcdaniel Lanford

Edith McDaniel Lanford, 81, of Madison Run Road, Gordonsville died on Friday, December 29, 2023, at her residence.  She was born on March 5, 1942, in Charlottesville and was the daughter of the late Joseph K. McDaniel and Ruby Breeden McDaniel.  She is also predeceased by a brother Melvin "Dickie" Ray McDaniel; and a sister Marie McDaniel Utz.

Edith is survived by her husband Reuben Coleman "R C" Lanford Jr. of Gordonsville; a daughter Kimberly L. Moubray and husband Ricky of Orange; a son Warren F. Riordan Jr. and wife Juanita of Grandy, NC; five grandchildren Olivia Riordan, Tyler W. Moubray, Corey A. Moubray, Jessica Rigsby, and Adrienne Johnson; three great-grandchildren Chloe Rigsby, Gunnar Rigsby, and Adleigh Hall; one sister Juanita Faye Martin of Orange.

Edith was a member of the Ladies of the Moose, and retired as Deputy Clerk of the Orange County District Court.

As per Edith's wishes, there will be no memorial service and memorial contributions may be made to the Heartland Hospice  493 Blackwell Rd, Warrenton, VA. 20186.  Preddy Funeral Home of Orange is assisting the family.
