Duarte Medeiros, Sr., 95 of Madison, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2023 at his daughter's home. He was born on December 28, 1927 to the late Manuel Medeiros and Gilda Cordeiro Medeiros. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Angela Medeiros; brothers, Rudolph Medeiros and Edmond Medeiros.

Duarte was an avid baseball fan, loved to read, and extremely loving family man. He loved to travel in his motor home.

He is survived by his wife, Shirly Conger; daughters, Veronica Walrond and husband Dickie and Vivian Utz and husband Jim; sons, Duarte Medeiors, Jr.; step-children, Mike, Ron, and Eric Conger, Jodi Cudney, and Linda Kibbe; grandchildren, Richard W. Walrond V and wife Maria, James H. Utz, II, Joseph L. Utz and wife Cassandra, and Jennifer Shifflett and husband Ricky; great-grandchildren, Jackson O. Utz, Julia E. Utz, Stephanie M. Walrond, Nora L. Walrond, Connor M. Utz, and Faith N. Utz.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
