Doris Ann Johnson

Doris Ann Pierson Johnson was freed of her earthly cares and went home to eternity with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 10, 2026. Born to Alvin C. and Ida Maddox Pierson on August 8, 1930 she lived a long and fruitful life centered on her trust in Jesus and love for her family. She married Robert A. Johnson on May 2, 1948 and they spent the next 70+ years together raising three children and welcoming with open arms five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by all of her siblings, Beatrice, Frances, Lucille, Mary, Hazel, and Alvin Jr. She is survived by her three children, Linda (John) Layne, Sharon Morris, Mark (Estelle) Johnson, five grandchildren, Dennis (Danielle) Kocik, Devin (Becky) Kocik, Amber (Chris) Bradley, Jordan (Avalon) Morris, and Daniel (Sarah) Kocik, eight great-grandchildren, Austin, Kaitlyn, Bradley, Eric, Christopher, Amelia, Colleen, and Hudson, and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are sister-in-law Elizabeth Lambert, brother-in-law Walter Johnson, and adopted member of the family Kat Bergeron.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the Johnson Family Cemetery, Barboursville, Va.
