Dolly Marie Poindexter

Dolly Marie Poindexter, 88, of Gordonsville, Virginia, passed away on Monday, September 20, 2025, at her home.
Born on November 16, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Ethel Mae Fincham. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Tennyson Poindexter, Jr.; her sons, Michael Anthony Poindexter and William Lee Poindexter; and her grandson, Travis Wood.
Dolly is survived by her children, Dennis Poindexter, Sr., Patricia “Patty” Wood, and Jeanie Lynn Staton; her brother, Wesley Fincham; her grandchildren, Michelle Thomas, Dennis Poindexter Jr., Candace Staton, Brittany Staton, Damien “Mikey” Blewett, and Anthony Poindexter; nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Preddy Funeral Home in Gordonsville. Burial will follow immediately at Hillcrest Cemetery in Louisa. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
