Dennis Carl Witherspoon, 68, of Mineral, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.

Born on June 9, 1956, he was the son of John Calvin Witherspoon and Virginia Ann Witherspoon. In addition to his parents, Dennis is preceded in death by his brother, Glenn Witherspoon.

Dennis was always smiling, laughing and joking. He always showed kindness and was thoughtful of others. He loved fishing, football and racing, but most of all his wife, Evelyn. He was a good man with a big heart and was loved by all.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Evelyn Robins-Witherspoon; his stepsons, Jason, Scott, and Tony; his sisters Beverly Spencer (Douglas) and Cindy Gentry (Mike); his grandchildren, Justin, Codi, Sara, Jayden, Aubrey, Bailey, Skye, Matthew, and Mia; his great-grandchildren, Bentley and Jax Morris; and numerous nieces & nephews

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Preddy Funeral Home in Gordonsville. Burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center.
