It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, nephew, grandson, and friend, Daniel Ordonez, who left us far too soon on April 14, 2026. Born on April 17, 1993, in Raleigh, North Carolina, Daniel was a cherished light in the lives of all who knew him, and his absence leaves a void that can never truly be filled.

Daniel was the beloved son of Ellen and RJ Benson and Peter and Sheryl Ordonez. He was the treasured grandson of Joseph and Lesley Finnegan, German and Ana Ordonez, and Luz Ordonez.

Daniel is survived by a devoted family who will miss him beyond measure, including his dedicated brother, Kevin Ordonez and his partner Kayleigh Gregory; his best friend and confidant, Jarrod Weaver, and Jarrod’s wife, Danee. As the eldest cousin to Matthew, Will, Maggie, Joey, Bianca, Olivia, and Sophia, Daniel served as both a leader and a steadfast friend. He was a cherished nephew to Joseph and Elizabeth Finnegan, James and Lori Finnegan, Paul and Carla Ordonez, and Alice and Brian Glatzer.

Daniel held a special bond with his young nephew, Link, and found great joy in watching him learn and grow. His family will forever hold him in their hearts, remembering his infectious laughter and the warmth of his spirit.

Daniel’s Uncle Albert preceded him in death, as did his beloved fiancée, Tina Otero, whom he loved dearly and with whom he shared many dreams and plans for the future.

Daniel was truly a jack of all trades, blessed with the rare ability to master anything he set his mind to. His passion for life was evident in his many hobbies and interests. He was an exceptionally enthusiastic guitarist and singer, often filling his home with music that spoke to the soul. With a love for working on and restoring cars, Daniel spent countless hours in the garage with his best friend, Jarrod, both engrossed in their shared passion. His love and devotion to his grandfather was proudly displayed by the 2001 Ford F150 that he was determined to keep running. He also harbored a particular fondness for a perfectly cooked steak, a simple pleasure that brought him great joy.

Known for his quick wit and quirky sense of humor, Daniel had a remarkable ability to lift the spirits of those around him. He delighted in playing pranks, always with a twinkle in his eye and a heart full of love. His wonderful sense of style was matched only by his love for animals, both of which were a testament to his vibrant personality and kind soul.

Daniel's journey through life, though shorter than anyone could have wished, was filled with laughter, love, and countless memories that will forever be cherished by those who knew him. His legacy is one of exuberance, humor, and a zest for life that serves as a reminder to live every moment fully.

A celebration of Daniel's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember a truly remarkable individual.

Daniel, you are deeply loved and will be profoundly missed. Your legacy will live on in the stories we share, the laughter we cherish, and the love that binds us all. Rest in peace, dear Daniel, until we meet again.
