Curtis Hoover Marks

Curtis Hoover Marks, 88 of Gladstone, Va. passed away on Tuesday, May 07, 2024 at his home. He was born on September 2, 1935 to the late Ernest McQue Marks and Ella Frances Gallihugh Marks. He was also preceded in death by four sons, Curtis Marks, Melvin Marks, Benjamin Marks, Thomas Marks; eight brothers, Ernest Marks, Steve Marks, Melvin Marks, Pete Marks, Nelson Marks, Fred Marks, Jimmy Marks, Jesse Marks; and two sisters, Joyce Marks and Hazel Marks.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Jean Jenkins Marks, five daughters Brenda Willis and husband Benjamin of Appomattox, Ann Walker and husband George of Front Royal, Wendy Merritt and husband David of Culpeper, Dorothy Crist and husband Richard of Appomattox and Peggy Dodson and husband Jason of Appomattox, two sons Elgie Marks and wife Missy of Appomattox, Michael Marks and wife Trish of Appomattox, Thirty grandchildren, Krystal Simons, Cathy Davis, Kelly Colvin, Meredith Marks, Melinda Utz, Jennifer Walker, Ben Marks, William Oravits, Chelsea Oravits, Chris Oravits, Kelsey Heizer, Dusty Thorn, Hannah Marks, Tad Spaulding, Bubba Crist, Hailey Crist, Kylie Crist, Jessica Branham, Rudy Dodson, Jo Dodson, Brandon Dodson, Ryan Oravtis, Amanda Faulk, Dana Layman, David Austin Merritt, Marionna Merritt, Gracie Merritt, Allison McPeak, Monica McPeak, and Tara McPeak and forty great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 13, 2024 at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison, Va. with Pastor John Morton officiating. Interment will be in Madison Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 pm on June 1, 2024 at his home in Appomattox, Va.
