Christine Rosetta Gray-Walker, 87 of Covesville, VA departed this life on February 13, 2022 peacefully at her daughters home in Shipman, VA surrounded by family.

Christine joined the church at an early age and was a faithful member of Elk Hill Baptist Church until she experienced a decline in health.

Christine was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Walker, one daughter, Rosetta Marion Walker, a brother James E. Gray, a sister, Ethel Mae Brown-Walker, A sister-in-law, Mary Gray and one grandson, Phillip John Walker.

She leaves memories to one son, Richard Walker Jr., friend Dianah Farrar of Schuyler, VA, Rachel Walker of North Garden, VA, Nona Walker Johnson, husband Lewis N Johnson of Barboursville, VA and Frances Walker Mitchell of Shipman, VA.

Christine also leaves her memories to 6 grandchildren, Ricky Randolph (Joyce) of Charlottesville, VA, Kiffany Parrish Williams (Marshall) of Baltimore, MD, Tonicka Hudson of Tuscaloosa, AL, Terrell Parrish (Brianna) of Baltimore, MD, Lewis N Johnson II (Whitley) of Durham, NC and Kristina Johnson Veney (Deran) of Gordonsville, VA.

She also has 8 great-grandchildren; Durrell Johnson of Baltimore, MD, Durron Johnson of Baltimore, MD, Dawuane Johnson of Baltimore, MD, Tavon Johnathan Walker, Baltimore, MD, Alina Audri Veney, Gordonsville, VA, Terrell Parrish Jr. Baltimore, MD, Levi Nathaniel Johnson, Durham, NC, and Brielle Rose Veney, Gordonsville,VA. As well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday February 19, 2022 at Mount Airy Baptist Church in Faber with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
