Christine Sclater Denton

Christine Sclater Denton, 66, of Keswick, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2024, at her residence. She Was born September 22, 1957, in Charlottesville to the late Darrell John Sclater, Jr., and Gertrud Anna Glaissner Sclater.

She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Palmyra, VA. Although her declining health kept her from attending church in recent years, Christine was faithful in having her daily devotions.

Christine Leaves behind a loving husband, William Howard Denton; devoted sister, Patricia A. E. Sclater of Palmyra; and a special aunt, Betty E. Sclater of Charlottesville. She is also survived by numerous cousins in Virginia and Germany.

She loved animals and nature and took great joy in her flowers. Christine enjoyed cross country trips with her husband. She found the beauty of Colorado's aspens to be awe-inspiring.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Bethel Baptist Church, 227 Bethel Church Road, Palmyra, VA 22963. A celebration of Christine's life will be held at a later date.
