Catherine Jane Houser

Catherine Jane Houser died November 23, 2022 at the age of 94. Her death is preceded by her husband, Richard Neal Houser Sr, son, Richard Neal Houser Jr., first granddaughter Mandy Jeannine. She is survived by her daughters, Susan Houser, Cynthia Camp, Nancy York and Carol Milat.

Born in St Louis, Missouri to William Dale Lister and Helen B. Lister, the family of 6, (she had 2 brothers, one sister), settled there for many years. Catherine started work as a Telephone Operator at the age of 16 to help her family manage financially during the early post World War II era. By age 19, she met the love of her life, Richard Neal Houser Sr. They were married 67 years.

Catherine's devotion to family personified her life's work. She was a mother if 5 children, Grandmother of 9 children, Great Grandmother of 17 children.

Catherine's life of 94 years was full of love and selflessness for others. Her life touched many people.

Funeral mass will be held for her (and her husband Richard) at St Jude's Catholic Church, Mineral, Va. Burial will follow at the St Jude Catholic Cemetery. The date and time is undetermined.
