Caroline "Carrie" Barnett

Caroline Barbara Barnett, born Caroline Barbara Selden, passed away on October 9, 2023 at age 67.

A resident of Gordonsville, Virginia, Carrie lived with her husband, Tom Barnett (now deceased), sister Anne Selden, and their beloved cats.  Throughout her long illness, Carrie remained upbeat and cheerful, witty and engaged, and forever inspiring to her devoted and supportive family. Carrie had been an avid traveler, reader, and writer.  A certified diver, Carrie enjoyed diving in the Caribbean and along the Great Barrier Reef.  She graduated from Olivet College in Michigan in 1977 where her father was a professor of Journalism and English.  She worked as an assistant to the director of sales and operations and the commissions manager for the Employee Benefits Corporation of America.

Carrie was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ramsay. She is survived by her two sisters Elisabeth "Betsy" Cakir and Anne Selden, and numerous nieces and nephews.
