Buddy Wayne Dodson

Buddy Wayne Dodson, 63 of Brightwood, Va. passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at his home. He was born on October 5, 1962 to the late Russell Freeman Dodson and Thelma Edwards Dodson. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Russell “Sonny” Dodson and Oscar Dodson.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Morris Dodson; daughters, Rachel Wood and her husband Mark, Brittany Dodson; sons, Russ Dodson, Christopher Anderson, Marcus Dodson and wife Kayla; sister, Patsy Powell; grandchildren, Abby Rasnake, Braven Wood, Gracelyn Dodson, Walker Dodson, Rowen Walker, and Jase Diehl.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at Preddy Funeral Home in Madison.
