It is with cherished memories that we announce the passing of Brenda Mae Jackson, who departed this earthly life on July 22, 2026, at the University of Virginia Medical Center.

Brenda was born on November 1, 1957, to the late Cornelius Alexandria Houchens and Bertha Lean Henson-Houchens. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, caregiver, and friend.

Brenda will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, warm spirit, compassionate heart, and the love she shared with others. She dedicated her life to caring for those around her and found great joy in her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She loved gathering with family around home-cooked meals and treasured the special bond she shared with her sisters, including their annual sisters’ coming-together weekend filled with love, laughter, and memories.

From Brenda’s union with Mike Jackson, they were blessed with four sons.

Brenda was preceded in death by her sons, Kevin Jackson and Daniel Jackson, and her brother, Larry Houchens.
