Bradley "Brad" Ray Metzger, 85 of Madison, Va. passed away from an ATV accident on Saturday, November 12, 2022. He was born on April 16, 1937 to the late Galen Metzger and Hazel Bassett Metzger. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Bradley R. Metzger, Jr. and Jeffrey A. Metzger; brothers, Edward Metzger and David Metzger; two sisters, Barbara Anderson and Mary Glick; and granddaughter, Chasitie Frazier.

Brad loved his family and loved his wife for 45 years of marriage. He had so many accomplishments and lived an amazing life. Brad fought in two wars and retired as a Chief in the Navy. He had a successful business, P. Bee Sports, for 27 years in Orange, VA. He worked extremely hard sometimes, 7 days a week to provide for his family. Brad retired and traveled the country with his wife. He loved riding in the sand dunes, making wooden toys, metal bird houses, and keeping his farm in perfect shape. One of his best friends was his devoted dog companion, Barney.

Brad is survived by his wife, Phyllis McCutcheon Sharp Metzger; daughters, Donna Metzger DeJarnette and husband Elliott, Bonnie Marie Walker and husband Paul Bodette, Jeanette L. Calhoun and husband Jason; sons, A. Todd Sharp and wife Pam and Roderick E. Sharp; grandchildren, William (Billy) P. Matiernan, Erin M. Huckaba, Joseph L. Sachs, Rachael McGinnis, Ashley Sharp, Austin Sharp, Tyler Sharp, Alexia Sharp, Zachary Dove and McKenzie Dove, Katelyn Pardue, Kelsey DeJarnette and Elliott (Will) DeJarnette  ; great-grandchildren, Piper Huckaba, Luna Huckaba, Ava Sachs, Sophie Sachs, Hunter Sharp, Paxton Sharp, and Gabe Frazier.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:30 pm on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Oak Park, Va. with Rev. Richard Grendahl officiating.
