Bobby Bernell Slaven

Bobby Bernell Slaven, 94 of Madison, Va., passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2026. He was born on July 20, 1932, to the late Ralph Wilton Slaven and Bessie Marie Dillon Slaven. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen Magdalene Weiss Slaven; brother, Robert E. Slaven; and sister, Louise Slaven Brock.

He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Rae (Becky) Baldwin, and husband, Mark of Mechanicsville, Va., and his son, Gregory Alan Slaven, and wife BB of Madison; five grandchildren, Kelly Parnell, Christopher Kesler, Matthew Kesler, Jacob Baldwin, and Nathan Slaven; and five great-grandchildren, Callum, Sutton, Elsie, Rowan, and Bru.

The family is deeply grateful to the wonderful staff at Dogwood Village Senior Living for the loving care they provided for Bob. Their kindness, patience, and compassion made a meaningful difference in his life and in ours. We thank God for each of them and for the blessing they have been to our family. They will always hold a special place in our hearts for the love and dignity with which they cared for him. A special thank you, also, to Hospice of the Piedmont for the loving care and guidance provided to Bob and the entire family.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison, Va.  A private family interment will follow.

The family will have a visitation from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Monday, October 26, 2026, at Preddy Funeral Home in Madison.
