Betty Joe Leach Blankenbaker, 85 of Madison, passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023 at Dogwood Village in Orange, Va. She was born on August 4, 1937 to the late Andrew Columbus Leach and Mary Minerva Corn Leach. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Franklin Blankenbaker; sister, Peggy A. Leach; brother Eddie "Peewee" Leach; niece, Yvonne Clatterbuck; great-great-nephew, Gavin Rumuly.

Betty retired from Madison County Treasurer's Office and was a life member of Hebron Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her nieces, Doris Blankenbaker and Althea Norman; nephews, Jeffrey Taylor, Teddy Leach, Chris Leach, Andy Leach, Scotty Leach, and David Blankenbaker; numerous great-nieces and nephews and extended family.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Hebron Lutheran Church with interment in the church cemetery. Pastor Jason Darty will be officiating.
