Bernice Wilson Kube

Jul 26, 1959 — Oct 5, 2026

Bernice Wilson Kube, 67, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2026. She was born on July 26, 1959, at Richmond Memorial Hospital to Eugene Kyle Wilson and Ada Sharpe Wilson.

Bernice is survived by her beloved husband, Clarence Edward “Ed” Kube, Jr., with whom she shared 46 years of marriage; her daughter, Janelle Buggio (Vince); her son, Clarence Edward “Trey” Kube III (Crystal); and her grandchildren, Tristan Buggio, Colton Kube, and Elodie Buggio.

A lifelong resident and passionate advocate for her community, Bernice devoted much of her life to serving others, particularly the young people and families of Louisa County. She was the founder of the Louisa County Teen Council and served as PTA president at Jouett Elementary School, Louisa Middle School, and Louisa High School. Her commitment to youth also extended to her church, where she served as Youth Choir Director at both Mineral Baptist Church and Little River Baptist Church. She was a longtime member of Mineral Baptist Church.

Bernice’s dedication to the Town of Mineral was reflected in her four terms on the Mineral Town Council. During her service, she chaired the building committee that oversaw construction of the town hall. She also wrote the grant and worked with Mr. Dick Harris to bring the Love sign to Luck Field. She helped facilitate the gift of Whitlock Family Park to the Town of Mineral and was a co-founder of the Mineral Farmers Market.

Her love of local history was another important part of her life. Bernice served as both Vice President and President of the Louisa County Historical Society and was a lifetime member. She was also a member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and a past member of the Merriweather Society.

Bernice began her professional career as an OB/GYN nurse in Norfolk before returning home to Louisa to raise her family. She later served as County Editor for the Lake Anna Observer. In the later years of her career, she worked as a real estate agent and marketing director.

Those who knew Bernice will remember her for her deep love of family, her generosity of spirit, and her unwavering commitment to the community she called home. She gave freely of her time and talents, leaving a lasting mark on the organizations, churches, schools, and people she served.
