Barbara Southard Amos, 95, of Dolley Madison Road, Orange died on Monday, May 25, 2026, at the Magnolia of Orange. She was born on January 27, 1931 at Montpelier Station and was the daughter of the late Otis G. Southard Sr. and Georgiana Purdum Southard. She is also predeceased by her husband William “Billy” E. Amos Jr.; a daughter Deborah Flint; and two brothers Otis G. Southard Jr. and George William Southard.
Barbara is survived by a daughter Sandra Arlene Amos of Stuarts Draft; a son William Michael Amos of Crozet; two grandchildren Michael Brandon Amos and Ryan Mitchell Amos; and a sister Patricia S. Stewart of Orange.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. graveside at the Graham Cemetery, Orange. Pastor David Long will officiate. Preddy Funeral Home of Orange is assisting the family.
