Henry Hyatt Harper Jr., 87, of Gordonsville, VA, passed away May 27, 2025. Born April 4, 1938, he was the son of the late Barbara Ann and Henry Hyatt Harper Sr. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Ann Stueve and Esther Shoares.
Henry (Hank) was an avid fisherman and extensive traveler. He was a devoted family man and was very close to his three children, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth K. Harper, his daughter, Valerie Lea Jarrell and her husband “Buzz”; his sons, Henry Hyatt Harper III “Chip” and his wife Janet, and Robin Harper and his wife Margaret; his grandchildren, Alex Jarrell, Christopher Jarrell, Joshua Jarrell, Henry Hyatt Harper, IV, Olivia Harper, Isabella Moskal, Kathryn Harper, and Addison Harper; and his great-grandchildren Collins Jarrell, Jack Jarrell, Eira Jarrell, and Alaina Moskal. He is also survived by his brothers, Edward Harper and Richard Harper; and his sisters Patricia Turcotte and Doris Hooker.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
