Earnest Gerald "Jerry" Williams
Earnest Gerald “Jerry” Williams, 82 of Stanardsville, Virginia passed away
peacefully on Monday, April 28th, 2025, at Sentara Hospital in
Charlottesville, Virginia, surrounded by his loving family. He was born
December 14th, 1942, in Accomack County, Virginia. He was the son of the
late Granville and Nelly Williams, and was preceded in death by two
brothers, Granville “Junior” Williams, and Jessie Russell Williams.
Jerry dedicated his life to his family, friends, work, and his many hobbies. He
was employed by Comdial Corporation for 42 years until he retired and then
went on to drive a school bus for 21 years for the Greene County School
system. He formed many bonds and gained numerous friends throughout
his work history. He also had many hobbies including hunting, fishing,
trapping, camping, working on cars and trucks and had a great love of the outdoors. He frequently made his
rounds often on Sundays after church to drop in and visit with his many friends and family. He enjoyed
attending sporting events whether it be a grandchild’s game or the Virginia girls’ basketball team. Jerry was a
very special person who stole the hearts of just about anyone he knew.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Louise Snow Williams, daughters, Deborah W. Manuel (Terry
Manuel), Pamela L. Dillon (Tim Morris), and son Todd Williams all from Greene County, Kelly Stover and Daniel
Baugher from Elkton, Virginia; grandchildren Brian A. Harlow, Terry C. Manuel, Jr. (Kristin Golkin), Megan M.
Manuel (K.J. Lam), William L. Manuel (Jennifer Morris), Travis A. Breeden (Brittney Harlow), Austin T. Williams,
Kendall L. Breeden (Cody Moubray), E. Dakota Williams (Taylor Bennett) and Colten M. Williams (Savannah
Morris); great grandchildren Chloe, Trey, Aubrey, Kyra, Mary-Elizabeth, Ruby-Reign, Bryson, Maddie, Baylee,
Jackson, Trent, Kadon, Dylann, Natalie and Ava; special friend Sydney Taylor, and other family and special
friends.
The family would like to thank the Sentara Hospital staff on the 2nd Floor and ICU for their excellent care and
support during Jerry’s stay there.
The family will receive family and friends on Thursday evening, May 1st, 2025, from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at
Preddy Funeral Home, 59 Edgewood School Lane, Madison, VA 22727.
Funeral service will be held at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, May 2nd, 2025, at 11:00 am to be
followed by a graveside service at the Hebron Lutheran Church Cemetery, 899 Blankenbaker Rd, Madison, VA
22727, and will be officiated by Reverend Adam Snow and Pastor Larry Morris.
