Earline Beverley Lohr Wyant, 86 of Waynesboro, Va., peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on March 27, 2024, at her son’s home in White Hall, Virginia. She was born on December 4, 1937 to the late John Rufus Lohr and Clara Bernice Lohr in Radiant (Madison County), Virginia.

Earline was also preceded in death by her husband, Bernard T. Wyant, Sr., two grandsons, Mark Richardson and Gary Wyant, as well as all thirteen of her siblings, brothers Kelmer, Floyd, Rufus, Lewis, Denver, and Donald Lohr, and sisters Elva Smith, Ellison Eckard, Eliza Fletcher, Beulah Buddington, Ruth Davis, Marie Niederworder, and Lois Browning.

Earline will be remembered as a kind, loving, generous, and Godly woman. She lived her entire life according to her faith and saw to it that her children were raised on the Bible and prayer. In addition to her unwavering devotion to God, over the years, she spent countless hours in her yard creating beautiful flower gardens and ponds which she was very proud of, and she received several "Gardener of the Year " awards. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was fiercely protective of and loyal to her family and went out of her way to care for anyone who needed it.

She is survived by her loving family including her seven children, Bernard Wyant, Jr. (Patsy) of Crozet, Virginia, Danny Wyant of Waynesboro, Virginia, Timmy Wyant (Trudy) of Crozet, Virginia, Becky Morris (Paul) of Crozet, Virginia, Nancy Price (Gifford) of Mingo Junction, Ohio, George Wyant of Waynesboro, Virginia, and James Wyant (Camille) of Sanford, North Carolina, ten grandchildren, Tammy Herr (Robbie), Tommy Wyant, Chad Wyant, Angie Britton (Brandon), James Wyant (Christina), Marcus Morris, Kristie Hager (Steve), Beth Richardson (Greg Yochum), Jonathan Richardson (Nicole), Leah Richardson (Michael Bolin), twenty-three great-grandchildren, Scott Fox, Jr. (Kaitlyn), Bradley Fox, Gabrielle Banks, Dre Wade, Ashley Britton, Abbie Britton, Mary Britton, Savannah Wyant, Parker Wyant, Noah Wyant, Faith Wyant, Helena Wyant, Macie Morris, Dustin Morris, Kirsten Hager, Kassidy Hager, Braelyn Hager, Shannon Yochum, Taylor Rogerson, Mason Richardson, Logan Richardson, Parker Richardson, Levi Richardson, and five great-great-grandchildren, Mckenzee Fox, Ryker Fox, Yula Akkarra, Tiana Wade, and Kamden Harris.

A memorial service to honor Earline’s life will be held at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, April 1, 2024, 2024 at 12:00 noon. The family will receive friends for one hour before the memorial service from 11:00 to 12:00 pm. The funeral home is at 59 Edgewood School Ln, Madison, Virginia. The interment will be at Holly Memorial Gardens, located at 3251 Seminole Trail, Charlottesville, Virginia. Gifford Price will be officiating.

The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice for all the great help caring for Earline over the past 8 months.

Ruth-Ellen Elizabeth Ragland-Johnson April 24, 2024 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ruth-Ellen Elizabeth Ragland-Johnson, a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Daughter, and Friend. Ruth peacefully departed on April 24, 2024, at her home in Louisa, VA. Born June 23, 1948, in Louisa, VA, she was the daughter of the late Esmo B. Ragland and Mary L. Ragland. She was preceded in death by her brother’s Albert Ragland, Raymond Ragland, and Harold Ragland, one sister, Janet Ragland, one nephew Felton Ragland and one sister-in-law Ethel Ragland. She is survived by four children, Jannelle Ragland, Boris Ragland Sr., Janet. Ragland-Temple (Mervin Sr.) and Simeon Johnson (Maxine). One granddaughter, Alicia Trice. Four grandsons Boris Ragland Jr. (Devora), Devin Ragland, Mervin Temple Jr. (TanaAsia) and Mitchell Temple (Kayondra). Four great-grandchildren Avery Harris, Caleigh King, Kason Temple and Milan Robinson-Temple. Two grand dogs Boodro Johnson, and Austin Ragland. Two brothers Esmo E. Ragland (Geraldine), and Bruce Ragland (Reva), one sister, Myrtle R. Hollins (Jimmy) and two sister in laws Emily Ragland and Maude Ragland. Eight nephews , Three nieces, Nine great nephews and seven great nieces. A special devoted niece Siobhan Ragland. Ruth also had 3 bonus children Robbie, Holly, and, Chapin Faulconer. 1 bonus grandson Trevon Gillison. A host of family and friends. Ruth was not only a mother figure to many but an adored soul, and always fashionable put together and ready to chat about her favorite reality tv shows. She was a devoted mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren. Her love and compassion extended to all those who knew her, and she will be remembered for her candor, warm smile and sassy personality. Ruth lived a calm life and was a woman of the lord. She was an extraordinary cook and her homemade dishes were always the talk of the dinner. She also enjoyed reading, art, puzzles and her favorite Western TV Shows. A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Gordonsville, with a visitation on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The interment will be held at Cobham Holiness Church of God.
