James William Mullins, Sr., 85 of Ruckersville, died Friday October 14, 2022 at his residence. Born April 16, 1937 in Wise County, Virginia, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Mullins. He was also preceded in death by his son, Joseph “Jobie” Mullins, three brothers, Tommy Mullins, Roger Mullins, Bobby Mullins and two sisters, Gearlene Haley and Emojene Charles. Mr. Mullins loved to fish and he was an avid Dallas Cowboys and New York Yankees fan. He also enjoyed watching Nascar.

He is survived by his wife Sarah Ann Mullins, a son, James William Mullins, Jr and wife Deanne, two daughters, Sonja Garton and husband Ricky, Phebe Dickerson and husband William, four sisters, Grace Enoch, Jodie Wright, Lorene Hill, Ina Mae Charles, grandchildren, Amber Dunnivan, Mikey Tomlin, Julie Mullins, Robert Dickerson (Morgan Adldoost), Kyle Dickerson, Billy Dickerson, Taylor Schwartz, Drew Schwartz, Nick Knight, his loving dogs, Hopper, Zac, Tucker and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday October 18, 2022 at Preddy Funeral home in Gordonsville with interment to follow in Maplewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
